You don't have to be famous to build something that lasts. But you do have to grow — and growing alone is harder than growing together.
Pennygood's referral program lets you earn by bringing more good people onto the platform. When someone you refer starts receiving support, you get a cut — automatically, forever.
Short answers:
- How does Pennygood referral work? Share your link; when they create a page and get support, you earn 0.5% of their donations forever (no caps).
- Where does the cut come from? From Pennygood’s 8% fee — not from the referred creator’s keep.
- Is there a second tier? Yes — 0.1% if your referral brings another creator.
- When to invite a peer? After your first paying backer, a short optional note to one person who already does useful work is enough — no blast required.
- Where do they start? https://pennygood.me/signup
How it works
Share your referral link from your dashboard (or a `?ref=` link) where it feels natural — a quiet DM to one peer, a newsletter line, a bio, a group chat. When someone clicks it and creates a Pennygood page, they become your referral.
You earn 0.5% of every donation that comes through your direct referrals — for as long as they keep receiving support. No caps. No time limits. Just ongoing earnings from people who decided to join because of you.
The second tier
It doesn't stop at one level. If one of your referrals brings in another creator, you also earn 0.1% of that second-tier creator's donations. So the network you build keeps paying, even when you're not directly involved in every connection.
Where the money comes from
Your referral earnings come out of Pennygood's own 8% fee — not from the referred creator's keep. Creators still keep 92% before Stripe on their own support. Pennygood shares a portion of its fee with the person who made the introduction.
Getting paid
Referral earnings are paid out on a monthly cycle, the same way your regular Pennygood payouts work. There's no minimum threshold specifically for referrals — your earnings simply roll into your next payout.
After your first backer
When your first paying backer lands, you don't need to broadcast anything. If one peer comes to mind who already does useful work people might want to support, a short optional note is enough — something like:
- You just got a first backer on a small Pennygood page for what you do.
- They can start at pennygood.me/signup (https://pennygood.me/signup) — from about $3/mo, keep 92% (8% fee), Stripe Connect in 120+ countries.
- No pressure at all; sharing the link is enough if it's useful.
That's it. Quiet, optional, one person. Your own referral link stays in the dashboard if you want to use it later.
Why it matters
Good people doing good work often don't know Pennygood exists. When you share it with someone who could benefit — a volunteer, an educator, a community organiser — you're not just helping them. You're building a network where the people around them also end up in a better position to keep showing up.
The referral program is Pennygood's way of saying: we want to grow together, not just use you to grow.
If you want a page of your own, start softly at pennygood.me/signup (https://pennygood.me/signup). For a live example of a small page, see Musa (https://pennygood.me/musa) — often with no backers yet; that is fine. Your referral link is already in your dashboard when you are ready.
