Como o Pennygood Ganha Dinheiro
Acreditamos que as plataformas devem ser transparentes sobre isso. Aqui está exatamente como o Pennygood funciona financeiramente.

We think platforms should be transparent about this. Here's exactly how Pennygood works financially.
The simple version
Pennygood keeps 8% of every transaction that passes through the platform. That's it.
No monthly fees. No setup costs. No charges to supporters. No premium tiers for volunteers. If no money moves, we make nothing.
What 8% pays for
Running a global payment platform isn't free. The 8% covers:
Payment processing costs. Stripe, our payment processor, charges around 2.9–5.4% per transaction depending on the card type and country — before we see a cent. International cards cost more to process than domestic ones. That cost comes out of the overall 8% pool, and the rest is Pennygood's operating revenue.
Infrastructure. Servers, databases, email delivery, content moderation, security monitoring, and everything else required to keep the platform running reliably.
The platform itself. Product development, customer support, fraud prevention, compliance with financial regulations across multiple countries. These aren't free.
Building for the future. New features, new supported countries, new payout options for places where Stripe doesn't yet reach.
What volunteers actually receive
After the 8% platform fee and Stripe's payment processing costs, a volunteer typically receives around 73–82% of what their supporters pay, depending on the mix of card types and countries.
On a $3 monthly subscription from a supporter using an international card, a volunteer receives approximately $2.20–2.30. On a $6 subscription, around $4.85–5.10.
We show volunteers a clear breakdown of all deductions in their dashboard — no hidden fees, no surprise costs.
Why not lower the fee?

We've thought about this. Some platforms charge 0% on basic donations (Ko-fi, for example) and make money through premium features instead. That model works if you have a large user base or an adjacent product to monetise.
We chose 8% for a few reasons:
It's honest. A 0% headline fee that hides costs elsewhere is worse than a clear 8% that covers everything. With us, what you see is what you pay.
It's sustainable. Pennygood needs to exist long-term to be useful. A platform that runs out of money and shuts down is worse for everyone than one that charges a fair fee.
It's competitive. Patreon charges 10% (increased in 2025 for new creators). At 8%, we're meaningfully cheaper than the largest platform in the space while covering our costs honestly.
Referral commissions
Pennygood has a referral programme: if a volunteer brings another volunteer to the platform, they earn a commission on that person's transactions — 0.5% in the first year, 0.1% after that. This also comes from the platform's share, not from an additional charge on top.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We don't charge supporters. We don't have a premium tier that puts some volunteers above others. The platform works the same way for everyone.
Our only revenue is the 8% transaction fee. If that's not enough to build a sustainable business, we'd rather know that honestly than paper over it with complexity.
